Empowering intelligent children from the slums of Rishikesh, India to be the best.

We provide the highest quality education, as well as nutrition and healthcare to exceptionally intelligent children from the slums of Rishikesh, India. Our scholarship program enables our students to attend private universities in India and the United States. We serve the community by offering free vocational training for women and computer literacy courses for adults.

In 2015 and 2016, we were awarded ‘Best School Trophy’ among 40 schools in Rishikesh.

“When I joined Mother Miracle and started sponsoring my first child, I had no idea that she would one day become a nurse at one of the most prominent hospitals in India supporting her very poor family. Mamta Chauhan is now an educated, intelligent, and independent young woman who has a well-paying job and a choice to follow her dreams. With that choice, Mamta has decided to save lives.”

– Shohreh Aghdashloo, Emmy Award Winner for Outstanding Supporting Actress and Academy Award Nominee for Best Supporting Actress

Who is Mother Miracle?

The story of a woman from San Francisco who gave up everything to serve.

During a visit to India in 1995, Shahla Ettefagh was so moved by seeing children living in extreme poverty that she vowed to come back to India to dedicate her life to helping poor children and families, especially women. In 2002, she fearlessly sold her house, business and personal belongings. She said goodbye to her family, friends and the love of her life. She ripped up all her photo albums to avoid the temptation of returning, and she moved to India to start a new life without ever looking back.
